While many fans often argue over who the best Spider-Man is, I think it’s fair to say that all of the suits were pretty freakin’ awesome. When we first saw Tobey Maguire swing through the sky in that straight-outa’-the-page costume–it was amazing. Even the way he moved was like we hadn’t really seen before.
The only real complaint about Tobey Maguire, may be that he was a little too bulky. That is somewhere that the second actor to play Spider-Man had the look for.
Andrew Garfield played an excellent Spider-Man in my opinion. He had the small frame and and beautifully designed suit. One of my favorite aspects of Garfield’s Spider-Man are his movements. In the behind-the-scenes footage, you can see that he would literally jump off a ladder to contort himself into the classic Spider-Man poses.

He also had some of the best Spider-Man one-liners.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man seems to have combined many of the aspects of both Maguire and Garfield. One of my personal favorite parts of his Spider-Man in Homecoming was has lack of preparation. It was fun to see him struggling to change into costume in the alley–something we haven’t really seen before. Another favorite of mine was seeing him run through an empty park with nothing to web-swing from. It was fun seeing what a Spider-Man specifically set in modern times would look like.
When people ask me who my personal favorite Spider-Man is, I don’t have a definitive answer. The Maguire movies hold a special place in my heart and inner-child. Garfield’s Parker was excellent and the suit was a fantastic modern spin. And Holland’s actually displays the struggle of being kid-superhero.
So maybe I don’t need an answer. Maybe I’ll just say that a don’t not like any of them. Yeah. That’ll be good.
